Press Releases

SAN DIEGO – DR Systems, one of the most respected names in healthcare information systems, will be exhibiting its cloud-based e|HR Meaningful Use for Medical Imaging solution at the 2012 Radiology Summit of the Radiology Business Management Association (RBMA).
The RBMA 2012 Radiology Summit will be held May 20-23 in Orlando, Fla. DR Systems will be at booth #502.
Radiologists and their practices can receive federal bonus payments of up to $44,000 per radiologist by implementing the system to comply with meaningful use requirements.
An estimated 90% of radiologists are eligible for radiology incentive payments from CMS, according to the American College of Radiology. Radiologists will have to qualify by October 3, 2012 to earn the full $44,000, however. Failure to comply with meaningful use requirements will subject radiologists and others to future financial penalties.
“The best kind of EHR for radiologists is a cloud-based, vendor-neutral, and complete ambulatory system that can aggregate data from patients and upstream systems like a PACS, RIS, or HIS,” said radiologist Murray Reicher, M.D., F.A.C.R., DR Systems’ co-founder and chairman. e|HR was designed to meet these criteria.
“For practices seeking the maximum federal payments, the urgency of beginning a meaningful use implementation right away can’t be understated,” Dr. Reicher said. “Only by starting now is a practice likely to have an EHR fully implemented by the October 3 deadline.”
“It is also crucial to meet meaningful use requirements with an EHR that affordably meets the requirements and suits a radiology practice’s workflow.”
Dr. Reicher is a recognized authority on cloud-based meaningful use and author of an article on the topic published in the September 2011 issue of the Journal of the American College of Radiology (JACR).
e|HR was certified as a complete ambulatory Electronic Health Record (EHR) by InfoGard, an Authorized Testing and Certification Body of the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC-ATCB).
Benefits of e|HR Meaningful Use for Medical Imaging include:
- No hardware purchase or resident software. As a cloud-based system, e|HR works entirely with browser technology.
- Vendor-neutral, offering plug-in options or standalone functionality.
- Radiologists can use it from multiple locations.
- Designed for radiologists’ workflow.
